Valentine’s day is five days away and all I can think about is how glad I am to not be in grade school anymore. Having to give everyone in my class a Valentine was stressful! I would carefully pour over every card to ensure I didn’t send anyone a mixed message. I didn’t want to risk asking anyone to “be mine” if I didn’t truly want them to be anything of the sort.
If you’re looking for ways to mark this day or distract yourself from it, I’ve got a few ideas for you.
1.) Cards and Cocktails @ Wayfare a hip co-working space in Costa Mesa, CA. On February 11th, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM for $20 you can enjoy some cocktails while creating five special DIY hand-made Valentines. All supplies will be provided.
2.) Go see “How To Be Single“. I love Rebel Wilson and Leslie Mann and I’m sure this movie is going to be hilarious!
3.) If you’re a fan of The Bachelor order some take out and watch the Celebration of Love special on ABC.
4.) Take a day trip to the mountains for some skiing or snowboarding. Here in Southern California, it’s super easy to head to Mountain High, Bear Mountain or Snow Summit for the day and get in a day’s worth of snow activities.
5.) Go to the gym. Odds are the gym won’t be crowded.
6.) Valentine’s Day for some retail therapy. Get out there and buy some new work outfits or to add some snazzy pieces to your wardrobe.
8.) Read a book cover to cover
9.) Find a recipe you’ve always wanted to try, go buy all your ingredients and cook or bake the shit out of that recipe.
10.) Visit your local animal shelter and spend some time with the lonely cats and dogs. Who knows, you might end up finding love on Valentine’s Day after all!
How do you plan to spend your V-day?
